We went to the zoo for one of my classes. For my redesign, I studied the Jellyfish and thought of a future where for a vacation you would pick a polyp or jellyfish in its larva stage. Then it would rise to the surface and grow and your house would float on the surface of the coastline. The legs/fibres of the jellyfish home would filter the ocean water and through a desalination process provide the house with fresh water. Solar panels on top would provide energy for heat and the support structure/buttress/beams of the home would channel down the solar energy so that you could use it to power things within the house, as well as heat. The structure would also use a diffusion process (like jellyfish) to bring air through the house, so you would not need windows.
