more Houdon studies

and my mini-Kenny is coming soon (ie my little skull/plaster to study from). Cannot wait.

Boo! (10 to 25 minute poses)

Not really. These are actually just poses from last night. The model had my name (although hers was spelt differently) and I didn't get home until midnight (my other drawing meetup was cancelled for that day so I was seeking out another place for the evening) because the place was a bit out of the way, but still lovely.

Houdon studies

I really really love Houdon's work soo much! We were drawing from casts in class the other day, so I was practising until I get my own (or maybe just a skull). That guy was a genius and amazing craftsman. His work had such energy and emotion.

nudies the sequel

With my partner in crime, we found another short pose area. It was really nice and actually in an area of town I've worked before, so I knew where to grab a quick bite to eat. The best too was that apparently there is even an art store nearby that has my progressos! Yesss (a lot of art stores don't carry them even though they are super cheap)! So I can pick some up on the way on Mondays. Half of this is from Sunday, and the other set is from Monday. There is another place tonight (since my regular doesn't meet up this week) that I'm aching to attend, but I really need to chill out on the clubs every day of the week and get some rest.

bugs

I have some naked people to upload but I"m lazy (and I see more tonight so I'll do two for one later). In other news some work for my vis comm insect class. For the redesign, in keeping with my police-militia plant world, I thought of this all purpose (for land and shallow water) vehicle inspired by the bckwimmer insect. Its aesthetic form echoes the life cycle of an insect. It would essentially be used by the police as a guard vehicle, but it goes from its pod state, to a bckswimmer type state for shallow water (with the legs as oars, using heated water and a turbine to propel oars (and a jet stream to push it out)...to a semi-standing (most like an insect) state before it stands and uses the oars (with bendable but sturdy material) as full legs. The legs rotate on a ball-socket joint, and the when it walks in standing state, a fan-propulsion system pushes air through and helps the walk cycle. The housing/ navigational area itself is made of a light metal, so that the legs/oars can support it. It is meant for shallow water and semi-windy terrain.

poses from last night

Packed house last night. Thank goodness I arrived early. She had some great poses. I had wayyy too much white wine and popcorn! Spending my day drawing russian heads until class this evening....finishing up our power glove in Maya. If it looks ok, I'll post it. So far, the hand looks fine; excited to render it.
