winding down
All is well (at least I hope so :-S)
I got into my Dynamic Sketching class so I'm pretty excited about that, as well as three other classes. It's going to be hectic, and I was actually thinking about taking another but the lady suggested that I take it in conjunction with another class offered at that school so I'll probably be doing that next term (or the term after that, or..). I've been doing studies of Andy's work..they're (mine, that is) not incredibly detailed and his work puts my renditions to shame so I didn't post them (ha!), but they really helped and I did see improvement from the beginning. After a while, I even recognized a few objects or things that could be objects and referenced in some of the work he did. But he is so super inspiring! I also spoke to Andy and told him I really really want to take his class and asked what I could do to get the most out of his class. He was such a sweetheart (emailing after 1am and all :) and just said to try to get as much real-life sketching in as possible...door hinges, etc. His advice was to just draw and draw and it's hard to explain but you build a memory of those kinds of objects, which helps when you are doing the design work. He did emphasize that his class was not cartoony at all, it was for objects that existed in real life or could exist in real life. So I'm back to sketching some weird parts and whatnot as usual until the 'semester' starts next Thursday. Super excited! Okay, enough about me.....(haha)...it's your time to take the couch :)
