committing
So, I know that I could be photoshopping cool fire-breathing dragons and snake-blood-alien-mongoose-birds, but 1. I don't want to be an illustrator 2. I really like the fact that the process of drawing and committing to one object makes you focus and that you need to have concentration and figure out how to improve it over time (a la 'perfect-practice' (any Gladwell/Colvin readers in the house? Ha!). I feel like I get a lot more out of this experience than I would if I just decided to do something randomly out of my mind and feel more confident when I actually do have to design
. 3. I love that I can see progress even in painting through a lot of hours of just drawing. I thought the profs were crazy when they kept emphasizing that drawing was the key to everything, but they really could be on to something..haha :)
