I just finished my Week one homework for this online class on Repr0duc!ble Rese@rch in D@ta Science, since I do that for my own learning; It started yesterday, and I was able to do the lesson and the quiz by this time mid-day. Then I was on to H@skell. I found an interesting book which I'll be getting to hopefully in October (mid), but it's in L!sp, so I guess I'll be learning a bit of that.
The wonderful thing about the language I'm learning at the moment (okay, I guess I"m learning two at the moment; one is for a grade, and the other is on my own with a group once a month, and well the online one for "fun", which is not really a language so much as it is an analysis/mining tool) is that you often have to take detours to read up and understand certain things about it.
So I've actually had to take several detours to understand certain concepts, which is great because that is sort of how my mind works in any case (I tend to take detours and then come back to things; like I'll read a book on something and a line or a word would interest me in something else and I'll go read up on that before coming back to the initial book, etc).
So I finally am digging into this book on L@mbda Pr0gramming. There's a great book on it that I was planning to purchase, until someone mentioned that it was online. So I was (easily) about to find it and have it downloaded, and am making my way through.
Anyways, a bit of M0noid/M0nad work from today.
