My first experience with L!sp

So I kept coming across L!sp in learning H@skell; there is one book in particular that covers Functi0nal and L@mda Calculus and is written ENTIRELY in L!sp. So what does that mean...gotta learn some L!sp. This was my first tutorial.

It is very fun; this guy who teaches is great. I'm also learning a bit on my own, via two books, among other things.

I can see why it is a language of choice for AI (ie Art!ficial Intell!gence.) Lots of brackets, though, and you have to be precise. This prelim course got me up and running and taught a bit about M@cros, H@shes  and key-v@lues (which coincidentally are also used in J@vascript), among other things. Some of the actual c0de is included, in case everyone is interested.
Once installed, you can use the c0mmand line, along with a Text Ed!tor. You can, of course, also write directly to a file (read or write), etc.

continuing with J@vascript

Some of the stuff we learned today. Including using c0de to chr0make din0saurs in space LOL.

learning J@vascript

It's easier than J@va, H@skell and C...but good to know.

We started applying filters to images.

And currently listening to this guy talking about how M@thematics is defined as "the science of P@tterns". I agree. He is talking about T0pology, Fr#ctal Geometry, L0gic and the B@nach-T@rski Paradox.

doing laundry

Got home the day after my two day trip and boy am I tired. I'm heading back again on the weekend of the 4th, which is going to be fun, and thinking of heading back again mid October; we shall see.
For all its worth, it was a blast, I can't wait to go back, and I learned so much!
Everyone is so incredibly nice.
In other news, I finished up my homework while doing laundry, and the clothes aren't even dry yet.

It's from my J@va class. I have to meet up with two of my friends tomorrow so that will be a full day, but I had to get laundry done and hope when I come home I can spend the night (and Sunday) pr0gramming!
I got the nicest compliment ever; everyone apparently looks up to me for M@th and pr0gramming help, which is weird, and someone said to me today that I should be a s0ftware person, because I was fixing everyone's issues and helping. Honestly, I think to each his own (or her own); if it's fun, stick with it and forget about who is worse or better than you are; just work hard at it and keep going!

Anyways, these are two pr0grammes I did in the space of putting my laundry in the washer and then dryer. One is to calculate BM! and the other is to calculate grades. Funny thing; I did the grade one in C :) So it's a wonderful thing to do this again in a totally different language!

We had to make a page

Well that was sooner than I thought it would be:
We had to make a similar page, so I made mine on R0bots, which of course, I love! I started with a line about the conference I will be attending on Thursday, which has TONNES of R0bots!! Yayyy!!!

Here are some snapshots, along with some of the code used:
