Another day of R0bots!!!

Today we actually built a robot, and it was awesome. The first shows the Arduin0 hookup. The next shows the bre@db0ard; we had to use a regulator to step down the voltage from 9v to 5v because the serv0 motors don't like 9 v0lts. Then our power for our serv0s died and we got new 5v power supplies. But then we got battery powered 9v systems and had to go back to using the regulators to step down the voltage.
Then we went into the system and made the nodes to operate the robot. Then we made the robot out of plexi-gl@ss. Then we powered the robot. Then we (I don't have a smart phone, but I WILL have an iPad or something for next time! It looks actually pretty affordable and may be worth it for me to draw/ travel with) used our smart phones to control the robot.
People with smart phones used theirs to control the robot (shown).
Then we went into the 3D programme and had a model of the robot, and created a virtual path for it to follow, so you could set a path for it to follow and loop it and it would do that over and over. So that's what all this stuff is, step by step.

This guy from M@ttel, when I told him what I"m interested in, looked at me and said "wow, you sound just like an Im@gineer!" That really surprised me, but hey, apparently there ARE people like me out there! That's GREAT to know! I often feel like I don't fit in 100 percent with the artists, and I like math and physics, but don't fit in 100 percent with some of the engineers because I like to draw, paint and sculpt and whatnot as well. So he gave me a bunch of files and promised to contact me with similar companies that will be of interest to me. It was so refreshing!

Everyone in that class is AH-MAZING! I had SO much fun that I signed up for five more classes, which will be next week (from Saturday to Wednesday). Should be FUN! I learned a lot, but it really tied in with my background and my interests!

Okey doke...picture time!
