some beginnings of some CAD-ed out work

Measured this out with my prof's bad@$$ calipers. I'm not done yet but in the meantime, some renders. Also, did some drawings around P@sadena of their C!ty hall but I'm too lazy to upload those right now. I also was able to find a figure drawing spot that can accommodate this current term's schedule (on literally my one day off) so I may be posting figure drawings after all! We shall see.

  1. Busy bee! Looks good, but what is it? Nice that you are learning the technical side of the job and not just how to make eye candy with no sense of purpose! Where's the new drawin spot?!? Excited to get my drawing buddy back!

  2. LOL oh you'll see it! It's the beginnings of my key chain that my mom gave to me.
We had to model something to scale in class. I still have to put in the phillips
parts on the screws and the round ball is a football, and there is lettering
on the actual front face. But with time.
Hahah. I"m doing the 26 hour marathon this weekend. I won't be able to attend the
entire thing, but I'll going to try to put in most of the hours I can. It's such a busy weekend; everything is going on around town with the Oscar nom stuff and all that.
Tonnes of events I have to miss out on. Tomorrow we're going to photograph our model
so I"ll be sure to post it, along with pics! I'm really enjoying classes this term! Hope you are well!

  3. Oh, what I LOVE about the design classes is that it's ALL
about design; as in REAL design. We take into account
scale, gravity, surface, tension, materials. It's AMAZING!!
I was reading that Kahn says that in painting, you can paint a bird
upside down and a man who is ten feet tall because you can.
In sculpture you are limited by gravity but you are shaping space
and that only an architect 'creates space'. I LOVE that!
It is SO bad@$$!!!! Not to mention it's so archivable
and has to be something that LASTS throughout time
and different cultural changes by its very nature, and it is
collaborative. I am officially in LOVE!

    1. Aw! So sorry to have missed the 26 hour drawing marathon at Titmouse! Hope you had fun and got to power through it! Happy that I’m arriving just in time for the Oscars, maybe we can hit up some events together , schedules permitting! It’s great that Architecture is not just about making pretty pictures, but more about actually learning how to create models that are to scale, and structurally sound that can bear weight. That sounds really interesting and I’m so happy you’re in love! Your inspiration really shows through in your work, keep at it, it’s amazing to see your progress!

  4. It's no biggie. It will be there again next year. I was only able to do 6.5 hours because I had a 9am class and wanted about 3 hours of sleep before heading out the next day. Yeah, I'm sure we'll have lots o time to hang out :)
It's great to catch up, too, and keep going together! This is a great journey for both of us!
