It's actually relaxing doing these. I am learning a lot. It's rewarding to render on the screen and have it work, but also fun to troubleshoot.

Not sure why I'm up
But got a version of the 14O1 s!mulator to work. A friend of mine who is doing research and works on it for the C0mputer H!story Museum introduced me to it and is giving me a bunch of stuff so I can do some work on my own with it.
So here are some examples of files run (examples; not my own).
It's a simulator of the real thing, which was printed out on pUnch cards and is on C0mputer paper at the museum. Neato. As you can see, it was written in J@va; so I'm running a J@r file.

Bubble love
Doing a Bubble sort algo for an assignment.
Tested out a bunch of values and it shows the quadratic relationship. (ie the curve, if you can remember quadratics from high school, etc).
It's quite neat stuff!

Well hellloooo
Hi All (or rather, HI ME!!!)
How's it going? I'm still on a high from my out of space experience! It was just wonderful! To top it off, the day everything wrapped up, I went out for drinks with a friend who also works there. So it was a darned cool week!
I have an exam tomorrow, but I'm sick with the flu and quite frankly, I haven't been focused at all. I'm just tired, and I've been more into h@cking than pr0gramming lessons. I guess pr0gramming for FUN is more interesting to me than a class setting :)
So this is Sn@ke. Yayy.

r0bot stuff using M!ndstorms
A lot easier than VEx, which is quite frankly, the devil (thankfully, it was what I learned on). Plus, in VEx, you have to pr0gram in R0bot C, which is like a weird version of C. This is much easier and fun! Oh, that's an ultras0nic sensor up top. I built a version of this by hand ( a nicer, cleaner version than this one :)

been out a week and busy
This week was m!dterms so I was just busy. I literally finished one exam this afternoon, and found I had to learn a language to help with a session tomorrow morning. Essentially, these past few Sundays, I've been helping make some r0bots, and pr0gramme them. Tomorrow, because it's a rainy day and we can't race r0bots, we'll be spending time pr0gramming with something called "Scr@tch". Essentially, it's a fun way to help younger people (and maybe some older people; who knows) learn how to pr0gramme. It was developed by M!t. So I was learning a bit about it, and what is interesting is that you can do fun things like add sounds, images and draw your path that you have pr0grammed.
So you can see how you can create geometric patterns, for example, by mapping a particular motion, and then setting it to repeat (either specifically or randomly).
My mentor is an astr0physicist who also works on self dr!ving cars, so I'm stoked and it's been really fun! And sometimes afterwards, I get a P0ke bowl and boba! :)

first draft
A team member and myself worked on some first drafts of a logo for our Company name, motto for our company within which we will be working at N@SA. Our group is about eight people, and we will be doing r0bot stuff.
This was one of the initial drafts. We have a final cool one that is a combination of all our work, and it looks really awesome, but I thought I should share an initial idea sketch/ rough.
A lot of it is about building teams and working together. Actually, the way it is set up, N@SA is like that; you pretty much work on teams on certain projects.
Our image is of a beanst@lk, M@rs, Earth and we wanted the motto and the name of the company to be on there. It's cool that the final ended up being sort of a cool mishmash of both of our ideas. It looks awesome. Go Team!

Sprite sheets! Just a player and a texture grass, which we loaded into the game.
I have to make one for a player animation thingy, tho :)
